I got scammed, here's what you need to know. Help me report.

A fool and his money will soon be parted, today I'm the fool. I lost 150 ETH on a pretty convincing scam involving a group of people that apparently are from different parts of the world. Here is are what I have on them. At least 3 people are part of the scam:

* The one that is supposed to be the leader, using the name of Laurence Purcell
- He said he is from UK
- He used this phone number for whatsapp: +31 6 87934394
- He used this email: [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])

* The guy that approached me on Reddit
- He said his name is Dean
- He used the reddit account Montana02115 already gone some hours ago
- He is probably from Netherlands, also there may be another guy named William from Netherlands
- I have our messages screenshoted, if that matters

* The guy that was the coolest and that controlled wallets
- He said his name is Moshe
- He is probably from Israel
- He used this phone number : +972 53-885-3650
- He have kids, they were screaming sometimes when he opened his mic (sorry kids, your dad is a scammer)
- I have the whatsapp history with him, but probably useless too

= How they convinced me =
I talked with Dean ( Montana02115 ) here on Reddit, he had a pretty old account, lots of old posts about crypto everywhere. He wasn't posting for a year, but if you are rich as the character he represented, this makes sense. We talked a little bit here, I said I was trading, he said he was only investing on ICOs/IEOs for some time. He said he was part of a investment group and that the group leader closes deals to buy tokens on private sales before they reach the initial offerings. He said the group needed people that could be really good on finding new projects, hidden gems, that they can approach and close a deal before it gets too known. He offered to introduce me to the guy if I can help on that regard. So, why not? I can do that.
They use the TeamSpeak software for the group calls. This was their server address =
They had people there almost 24/7. From time to time Laurence appears and updates the group about the deals. He even gave trading calls, like to short BNB this saturday. There was people on there, you could enter and unmute the sound at some moment and you would hear people talking about the topics they were supposed to be talking about. They were not really just acting to convince me, maybe there was more victims online at the same time as me, which makes it look even more real. TeamSpeak doesn't seem to record those calls or message history, so I can't help with that.
Moshe was the cool guy, at least for me he came and said he would help me. They were buying Perlin last saturday, I wasn't online, Dean came on Reddit and told me Moshe talked with everyone and convinced them to allocate some for me. He "paid" 50 ETH for me, he showed me this wallet:
There was 800 ETH on there, he moved exactly how he said he was going to move. He said he didn't care about those 50 ETH, that he was already rich. He wanted to help me because they need more people on researching projects. Next day I received my fake Perlins in my wallet, this is my wallet (fake perlins still there):
He also have the same token in his wallet, in perfect proportion. And yeah, I sent him the 50 ETH, actually I sent him 51 ETH. He moved 800 ETH to this wallet, obviously his own:
He said Laurence creates an individual wallet to every investor and every investment, after it he divides the tokens using those amounts. If there's a way to blacklist those wallets, we should do it.
The group talked about Perlin, Sovrin, Algorand, Starkware and they were considering Keep Network. Everything continued normal after this first deal, I got even closer to Moshe, we talked a lot. This week there was a round for Sovrin, Moshe again helped me put 100 ETH on it. Laurence sent me a PDF to my email with the contract agreement regarding Sovrin. Moshe controled a wallet with 2000 ETH at that time, he also moved it in front of me, this one:
I sent him 50 ETH from my wallet and another 50 from my Binance wallet. After that, I said I would wait to sell Perlin. I was always aware it could be a scam, but... believe me, everything was very convincing, even their accents were convincing. I wasn't investigating the fake Perlins on my wallet, and we were going to receive Sovrin only in a few days. I was focused in researching more on Keep Network, as I said it would be doing. Also talking a lot with Moshe.
When Dean and Moshe insisted too much for me to invest in another round of Algorand (it was already on Binance, they said I could sell immediately), I said to Moshe that he should take it as a compliment, but that he was too good to be real, and that he should be honest with me if it was a scam. He blocked me immediately. I was not offensive and that was not his personality, that was when I realized it was really a scam. I got banned from the server, Dean even deleted his Reddit account today. Also, I researched the perlins on my wallet, and they are fake.
Reading now, knowing the end, is like watching a movie in which you are aware of the plot twist. Trust me, they are very convincing liars, the only doubt I had about everything was that it was too good to be real. But good things do happen, I not changing my mind on that, but yeah, shit happens too.

= What can you do? =
* Post a link to this everywhere, let people know, they can still be doing it.
* Are you in a position to investigate the information on them? Maybe the phone numbers or the email? Please, do it.
* Do you know someone at exchanges or a way to blacklist their wallets? Please do it. My ETH is already gone, but maybe there's a way to difficult for them to sell it.
* Do you know someone that work for news websites or things like that? Send them this.
* Do you know any other way to report them? Help me do it.
* Are you a victim too? Don't let this destroy anything good on you. We now work harder and learn from our mistakes. Good things do happen!
* And finally if you are part of that group and are reading this: you are pretty good liars, really good. But hey, that's what you are good at, you are not the rich successful investors you pretended to be. You never will, you will always be liars. Moshe, put that ETH into educating your kids to be what you will never be: good and honest people! I wish them the best.

Weekly news review (July 20-26)

Weekly news review (July 20-26)
Hello! How is it going, Community?
Let's take a look at last week's news highlights!

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) today officially confirmed that Facebook has agreed to pay a record-breaking $5 billion fine over privacy violations surrounding the Cambridge Analytica scandal.
Besides the multibillion-dollar penalty, the company has also accepted a 20-year-long agreement that enforces it to implement a new organizational framework designed to strengthen its data privacy practices and policies.
According to the FTC, Facebook has repeatedly used deceptive disclosures and settings to undermine its users' privacy preferences in violation of its 2012 FTC order that required the social media to gain explicit consent from users to share their personal data.
The newly proposed organizational framework will also cover not just Facebook's massive social media network, but also the company-owned services, including WhatsApp and Instagram.

The New York Times Company has revealed new details relating to its ongoing blockchain publishing experiments.
The New York Times and partner companies will run a proof-of-concept from July until late 2019 to find a way to maintain trust in digital files. The project aims to store a news item’s “contextual metadata” on a blockchain, including when and where a photo or video was shot, who took it and information regarding how it was edited and published.
The idea is to create a “set of signals that can travel with published media anywhere that material is displayed,” including on social media, in group chats and in search results.

According to a report released on July 23 by the International Energy Agency assessed emissions due to Bitcoin (BTC). BTC mining is likely responsible for 10‑20 Megatonne (Mt) of carbon dioxide (CO2) per year or 0.03-0.06% of global energy-related carbon dioxide emissions.
Annual Bitcoin’s energy consumption estimates range from 20 TWh to 80 TWh, with the agency’s own estimate being 45 TWh. But despite allegedly consuming more energy than Ireland, this means Bitcoin still consumes less than electric vehicles (58 TWh in 2018).
The report’s author further points out that Bitcoin mining hotspots tend to start in places rich in cheap, renewable energy. The paper also cites research claiming that roughly 76% of the energy consumed by Bitcoin is renewable and using this data its estimates of CO2 emissions.

Nearly 2.7 trillion won ($2.3 billion) have been lost to crimes involving cryptocurrency in the last two years, according to South Korean government data.
Figures provided by the country’s justice ministry on Sunday indicate that losses from crypto scams, Ponzi schemes, embezzlement and illegal exchange transactions came to 2.69 trillion won from July 2017 to June 2019.
The ministry further said that 420 individuals have been charged over cryptocurrency crimes in that period, with 132 having been arrested.
Notably, the crime figures don’t include losses from exchange hacks.
Democratic Party member Je Youn-kyung has proposed legislation to bring in stricter cybersecurity rules for crypto platforms, which is currently pending passage in Korea’s National Assembly.

Iran is officially recognizing cryptocurrency mining as an industry within its borders.
According to the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, a government economic commission approved crypto mining last Sunday, with the government now looking for ways to regulate this activity within its existing legal structure.
While crypto mining appears to have been given a tentative green light in Iran, it is unclear whether officials are changing their stance on using cryptocurrencies for domestic payments, and if so, how.

Munhumutapa Alphablockchain Introduction

The Munhumutapa Alphablockchain is a decentralised peer-to-peer-to-b2b democratic financial system designed as a child chain carrying blockchain optimized to facilitate a borderless African economy. The blockchain enables the African population and African businesses to interact and conduct business on a secure, democratic platform
The Munhumutapa blockchain is the alpha-chain and hosts child chains on its architecture called betachains. They are called betachains because unlike childchains, Munhumutapa allows smaller local chains to be built on top of each child chain. Each local chain can only be used for the same function as its betachain but for smaller communities like a university or church. These local chains' transactions are not processed by the blockchain but simply provide a publicly verifiable ledger for their user communities. Betachains hosted on Munhumutapa will utilize the alpha-chain's blockchain consensus protocol, processing system and network while providing individual unique features for their own platform services.
As a gateway to African business, the blockchain is built for both public/private, permissioned and non-permissioned economic services to co-exist simultaneously on one blockchain platform.
Munhumutapa Energy Coin (MUNHU) The Munhumutapa Alphablockchain is powered by the Munhumutapa Energy Coin (MUNHU). The coin is the utility energy currency of the blockchain and is used as transaction fees on the alphachain and forging as the determinant stake and reward. The transaction fee for alphachain transactions is 1 MUNHU
Mutapa Energy Coin (MUTAPA) The Mutapa Energy Coin (MUTAPA) is the Mutapa betachain's energy currency and used to pay for transaction and service fees on the Mutapa Betachain. Mutapa Energy Coins paid by users pay binders which group together betachain transactions into betablocks. The binders will then pay forgers in MUNHU for the betablock to be included in a forged block.
Betachain Coins 2. mBANK Coin 3. IDNTY Coin 4. DAFSE Coin 5. mAUTH Coin 6. mDAO Coin
The fee for executing a transaction on Mutapa and every other betachain is equivalent to 0,1 MUNHU payable in that betachain's coin.
Munhumutapa Energy Coins (MUNHU) The max supply of Munhumutapa Energy is 1 000, 000, 000 and the initial value of one Munhumutapa Energy is estimated to be an equivalent of $1.00(USD). MUNHU will be listed on leading exchanges available in Africa for easy buying/selling of these coins.
Mutapa Energy Coin( MUTAPA) There is a set supply of 1,000, 000, 000 MUTAPA Energy Coins with one Coin having an estimated value of USD $0,10. MUTAPA will be only be listed on Munhumutapa's own built-in exchange only or acquirable from authorised resellers and/or agents.
The Alphablockchain will consist of the following betachains;
  1. Mutapa Currencies (Mutapa/mCurrencies)
  2. Munhumutapa Digital Identification (IDNTY)
  3. Munhumutapa Digital Bank (mBank)
  4. Munhumutapa Authentication & Certification (mAuth)
  5. Munhumutapa Africa Stock Exchange (DAfSE)
  6. Advanced Smart Totemic Assets Management Platform (StAMP)
  7. Munhumutapa Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (mDAO)
TRANSACTIONS Munhumutapa makes use of a parent chain/betachain dynamic that allows proof of stake based consensus to be executed for all betachains on the parent chain. Betachain transactions Go through a process called 'binding' which is similar to forging but with no blocks added to the blockchain. The binding process involves grouping together multiple betachain transactions into a single betachain transaction called a "betablock". The betablock is then forwarded to the alphachain where it is included in a block together with Munhumutapa alphachain transactions.
Users can send, transfer and receive funds to and from any address provided they hold sufficient MUNHU to facilitate a transaction on the alphachain. For transactions on Mutapa betachain, MUTAPA ENERGY is used as a transaction fee. The MUTAPA is used to pay binders to include the transaction in a betablock which is forwarded for forging as a single transaction.
The Coin is the alpha currency of the Munhumutapa Alphablockchain. It is designed to provide a continental transactional currency that services the monetary needs of the African economy. Munhumutapa Coin intends to allow Africans, business and individuals alike to be enabled to do business, trade and transfer value easily, securely and efficiently irrespective of location or financial capacity. The currency is going to backed by a basket of African currencies. The coin will be backed by Munhumutapa blockchain's own tethered digital currencies pegged at 1-to-1 to African national currencies. The proposed currency framework will ensure Munhumutapa holds real value and also introduces a new piece of the puzzle, an African digital currency system called mCurrency.
mCurrency mCurrencies are 1-to-1 pegged digital equivalents to fiat currencies on the continent i.e each currency can have its own Munhumutapa digital equivalent which can be transacted across the platform and maintain its tether value. mCurrencies are built on top of the Munhumutapa blockchain and are meant to offer local digital currencies for every country in Africa.
Blockchain User Features
-Multi-Party Account Control For joint or corporate accounts where fund security and use is delegated to more than one person, the multi-signature feature ensures use of funds depends on the approval of multiple authorised parties. The feature is set to allow transaction execution only when m-of-n parties approve.
-Pay Orders Users can preset transactions which are executed at set intervals and amounts payable.
-Payments and Receipting Another useful feature for goods and service payment business is the Quote & Pay which allows a merchant to quote and embed a payment instruction in a receipt. The receiver can use the receipt to pay the merchant by simply scanning the receipt. The feature ensures payments are exact, identifiable and made to the right account address.
-Asset Issuance and Management Users can create digital assets on Munhumutapa. These assets can be managed on the platform and issuers can set rules and conditions on how they are used, transferred and valued.
-Smart Contracts Smart Contracts can be executed depending on the conditions and parameters set. These contracts allow businesses and individuals alike to track certain transactions and preset custom transactional responses to certain triggers within the ecosystem.
-Messages Confidential messages can be sent and received on Munhumutapa with guaranteed privacy and security. The messages are accessible to accounts that hold private keys of the recipient accounts only.
Munhumutapa dMarket All users if Munhumutapa can access the decentralized Munhumutapa dMarket where they can browse, search list to sell, buy, enquire and trade goods and services. The market is run as an Escrow service that only releases funds to the seller when the buyer confirms the receipt of the goods or service. The market is also a decentralised advertising platform equivalent to a digital classifieds.
Currency Exchange mCurrency conversion is a key component of the Munhumutapa ecosystem as it allows users to seamlessly convert one mCurrency into another or to Munhumutapa Coin. This is achieved through a decentralised exchange (Dex) built on top of the alphablockchain. The advantages of such a setup are numerous and include: Settlement of payments directly in foreign countries in a local mCurrency on one platform. Exchange of received funds to a local currency Holding of different continental currencies in one account. Through the exchange, users can place ask and bid prices to acquire mCurrencies at official rates. Currency exchange limits exist for each account to curb inflationary activity.
Mobile Number Mapping On Munhumutapa, users are identified by their phone numbers which represent their account addresses. When a user first registers on Munhumutapa, they are required to map their phone number prefixed with their country code to the generated account address. Munhumutapa will then send a confirmation code to the submitted mobile number to establish that indeed a user owns it.

Detailed thoughts/research on ICON. (Updates)

Reposting this with some updates. Originally posted to this sub 3+ months ago when there were fewer than 100 subs. I am more bullish on ICX than ever before and plan on increasing my position via OKEx, possibly doubling my 30 Eth position depending on how low the price drops. Thoughts on price: I don't give a lot of credence to the HitBTC futures but I DO pay attention to the trend they reflect. I've seen many ICOs with futures trading below the ICO price. ICX is currently at a crazy premium. Will ICX trade at >$3 on day 1? I don't think so. But I'm willing to bet good money (and will bet good money) that it will trade well north of $3 within the next few months assuming we don't have another massive market correction. My two cents.
One piece of advice to the ICON team: Pay more attention to this sub than you do to Telegram. Make announcements here. It will get to the Telegram almost instantly while remaining visible (instead of having to "pin" posts on Telegram) and easily searchable in the future. We need this subreddit to grow. Thanks!

(Techcrunch source) (Article about name change) Note that theloop is the company that built the underlying blockchain technology. They are also owned by Dayli Financial Group. It appears many Korean companies take this "conglomerate" approach which has made research a bit tricky. In summary, Dayli Financial Group, Icon Foundation, theloop, Yello Financial Group all the same company.
Furthermore -- Yello Mobile is HUGE. They are one of the largest startups in Korea with a valuation north of $4b. (Source) We're talking about the largest mobile start up in Korea...a start-up that was started by a team that spun off of Kakao, the most popular app in Korea that almost everyone uses (similar to WhatsApp or WeChat in China). Confused yet? Basically, by Korean standards, this is as big as it gets.
UPDATE: I wanted to throw in something I've heard one of the ICON Council members say many times in interviews on Youtube. They view blockchain networks akin to cellular networks. There will be many of them, they will be regulated, and there will be incredibly successful regional networks in addition to international networks. ICON is the first blockchain network in Korea focusing on pulling that country towards blockchain adoption (see article linked at the bottom of this post). They're setting up dozens of partnerships and side chains that they're building themselves for clients with the goal of connecting the entire ecosystem using ICX. This is a BIG vision that, in my opinion, makes a ton of sense. ICON isn't just saying, "Here's our network, come use it" -- they're signing up industries and those industries are paying up for their own blockchain networks that will become part of the ICON ecosystem. We haven't really seen something this "professionalized" in crypto yet, besides perhaps Ripple.

UPDATE: They also added Jehan Chu as an advisor. He's a pretty big deal and has been around the space for a LONG time. Here he is on Bloomberg TV mentioning South Korea. He doesn't mention ICON (and does mention two other investments) but I'll give him a pass given that he's on an American TV show.

ICON. Raising 150k Eth. Korea's first crypto platform. Sub is dead but Slack jumped from 100 to 2k+ in 4 days. I've done a TON of research summarized here. I'd love your thoughts!

Cross post from ethtrader. Hopefully ya'll will be more helpful. Hard to find data on this one. Here's what I've got. I would love your thoughts. It's just been so hard to find opinions because no one seems to know about it in English speaking forums.

To put that in perspective -- no US of Chinese crypto that I know of has a tie this close to a major tech unicorn. This ICO hasn't happened yet. I have no tie to this company. And the ICO round is capped at 30 Eth per person at first so we all have the opportunity to invest if we want. I'm NOT pumping this. I'm trying to get opinions before I sink a bunch of money into it. Thanks!

Does Encryption Guarantee Security and Privacy for Cryptocurrency?

Does Encryption Guarantee Security and Privacy for Cryptocurrency?
Digital privacy has become a hot-button item throughout 2018, with the likes of Facebook and Google stumbling under the onslaught of concerns from users who are demanding more control of their personal information. As alternative means of communication continue to rise in popularity, like WhatsApp with its end-to-end encryption, it’s becoming increasingly clear how dearly customers value their privacy online. The use of cryptocurrency falls right into that desire, as users are drawn to its encryption and focus on security. Unfortunately, not even that emphasis always equates to a guarantee of privacy.
Blockchain encryption occurs thanks to each member of the network having a public and a private key. It is theoretically impossible to deduce the private key of any user because of the inherent encryption that powers the blockchain. Therefore, a user can send their public key to anyone else to move funds without fear of an ill-willed actor gaining access to their private key. Of course, no technology is foolproof, as some crypto companies (and investors) have learned to their chagrin (e.g. the $500 million Coincheck hack this year). However, as vulnerabilities have cropped up, crypto organizations and members of the community continue to innovate and improve crypto security. This article will explore some of these developments in greater depth.

Encryption Technology is Evolving

Encryption technology reaches far beyond the realm of cryptocurrency. In communications, for instance, Cisco has stakes in an encrypted messaging platform that would make group chats truly private. Encryption also allows cryptocurrency to do what fiat currency cannot — eliminate counterfeiting. And while many fear the use of encryption to promote terrorism, it’s also used by people oppressed by their own governments to communicate and make purchases.
As hackers, cyber-criminals, and other nefarious individuals continue their attempts to cheat the blockchain, organizations must constantly improve their security systems. Encryption has never been and will never be foolproof. Those who believe it can allow them to do anything anonymously — including illegal activities — are in for a rude awakening from law enforcement. In some cases, blockchain can even make it easier for police to prosecute crypto criminals. For example, pursuing someone who committed fraud on a website would require officials to request and serve subpoenas, which can take months or years to get approved and filled. With a decentralized blockchain system, however, no subpoena is needed; a transaction number links to an account number, without any need for courts or judges to get that information.
Encryption is also evolving in the form that it takes. For instance, while most cryptocurrencies use private keys of character strings, China’s SafeWallet is branching out with a QR code-based user ID system. The codes will be personalized and encrypted and must be followed by answering pre-set security questions. In order for organizations to keep their data as secure as possible, they must be open to adapting to new evolutions like this.

Security Breaches and How to Protect Against Them

Even though encryption is the underlying technology that keeps one’s cryptocurrency assets secure, the most common threats to investors’ wealth are price manipulation, phishing, and malware scams. In early August, the Wall Street Journal reported that organized “trading groups” have made $825 million so far in 2018 by manipulating markets with “pump and dump” schemes to raise prices and then quickly sell their shares. Phishing usually occurs through email or Twitter, tricking investors to send coins to an account to get many more in return. Malware’s presence in cryptocurrency skyrocketed in the first quarter of 2018, with more than 2.9 million samples viewed by researchers, up from 400,000 in the last quarter of 2017.
These three methods all have one thing in common: they aren’t trying to break through the security systems or break down blockchains’ encryption. Instead, they are relying on the gullibility of individual users to steal credentials and currency. Investors should learn about effective methods for minimizing risks posed by crypto scammers. These precautions include storing private keys offline, installing security software on PCs, recognizing suspicious emails, and others.
But can the blockchain itself be decrypted, nullifying the very foundation of what keeps cryptocurrency private and secure? The majority of experts believe this to be extremely unlikely (or even impossible). However, there is a minority view that the rapidly-approaching age of quantum computers can pose a risk to the core encryption technology behind blockchain. There is no projected date for quantum computers coming online, but they have the power to solve complex mathematical problems — like encryption algorithms — much faster than normal computers. For now, however, such potential threats to cryptocurrency encryption are likely decades away.
As much attention as is being paid to vulnerabilities in encryption, it might not even be the biggest lurking risk when it comes to cryptocurrency and blockchain. That title could fall to the Foreshadow vulnerability. Foreshadow affects Intel’s Software Guard Extensions (SGX), a part of the chip that stores sensitive information and is in the tech plans of many current and future cryptocurrency projects. In August, it was reported that a group of researchers informed Intel of a vulnerability that allowed them to attack the chip and steal the information it stores.
For the present, having pundits and critics challenge the safety and security of cryptocurrencies’ encryption is a blessing for the industry. The more challenges that can be posed and met in the present, the longer cryptocurrencies can endure as a long-term payment solution and investment opportunity. Challenges will continue to come cryptocurrencies’ way as cybercriminals and hackers attempt to unlock their encryptions and collect on illegal paydays. Mitigating those risks — both on an institutional level and by the average investor — will greatly help build up cryptocurrency as a valuable long-term asset

NESTREE - An Advanced, Reward-Based Community Messaging App
Most people are endeared to Whatsapp, Facebook messaging and similar apps. Sending messages and making phone calls have gotten better. Few people make use their traditional SMS messaging. Operations on these platforms have remained relatively disorderly. In groups, people are suffocated with messages they don’t need and those required are lost in the piles of unwanted ones. While many of such groups have an admin, he/she is likely confused on the way forward. Sometimes, mixing business with pleasure is important, but most messaging apps haven’t caught on how to make this a reality. Advertisers are in limbo on when to come in and this is regardless of the activities of groups. Cryptocurrency could be deployed, but there’s a lack of foresight on measures to exit the paper phase.
You don’t often see a platform believe and pursue the marriage between cryptocurrency and messaging as Nestree does. Perhaps a lot of startups don’t understand how this can be a thing, but it is. Interactive messaging apps are underserving, and it is surprising since you’d expect something so close the populace would be maximally utilized.
Nestree attempt consists of the creation of an app with channels like that of Telegram but with a few alterations. People send content to the channels and are rewarded based on helpful members find such.
Nestree also has brings the world of cryptocurrency close to interactive messaging through its crypto-wallet. You can send assets to a particular person in your channel list with ease. Trades are no longer limited to the largely obscure exchange websites as you can deal quickly without those in your crypto groups without entertaining fears of being scammed.
Nestree is a startup that has everything figured out. There are no loose ends in its highly eventful plan. But it needs to transcend the ‘good on paper’ phase to make a mark. Hopefully, we don’t have to wait for so long before that happens.
Nestree is a messenger service built using blockchain technology. Nestree comprehensively and innovatively resolves problems within the global messenger industry. Nestree allows users to be able to join the community, participate and get rewards for their contributions. Admin also has the opportunity to order important messages, which avoids loss of important information. On the Nestree platform advertisers also have the opportunity to get an audience and viewers get rewarded from every ad they see. Nestree is a platform built with the spirit of 'cryptocurrency and blockchain' so that users are provided with a feature that allows them to store crypto and trade from one application.
"Nestree is a messenger application that is perfect for crypto-enthusiasts who want messenger applications that allow them to send messages, cryptocurrency, and trade on one application at a time or users who want to get rewards from every contribution they make."
Targeted Marketing:
Channels on the Nestree platform allow users to be able to choose channels that suit their interests. Thus advertisers can more easily choose channels according to their ad categories and get the audience that suits them.
Advertisement Reward:
Channel operators and participants have the ability to share the token eggs they receive from advertisers. Thus all participants on the channel will get the same value for their contribution.
Channel Subscription:
This is a feature that allows operators to monetize their channels. Every user who wants to subscribe is required to pay a fee for each content they enjoy.

Tensions rise over draft bill that proposes jail term for crypto users

Here's the whole Indian bill situation as I understand it.
The A recent draft bill which calls for a jail term for anyone dealing in cryptocurrencies continues to create disquiet in India and in the cryptocurrency market around the world.
On the initial report featured on Bloomberg about the jail term was on 7 June. On 26 April report in The Economic Times, which talked about the proposed legislation—Banning of Cryptocurrencies and Regulation of Official Digital Currencies Bill 2019—being “circulated to relevant government departments".
The use of bitcoins isn't encouraged in India, and the sale of bitcoins currently is taxed. There are an estimated three million bitcoins in circulation in the country.
However, some voices claim this is too much and too early of a fuss. “It’s too premature to come to a conclusion on this," according to Vishal Gupta, CEO SearchTrade and Binex, citing that this is a private bill at the moment.
Gupta also said that while a section of the bill has been talked about, it actually says that illegal dealings in cryptocurrencies will be illegal —which is like saying paying rupees for illegal activities will be illegal.
Sathvik Vishwanath, CEO and co-founder, Unocoin, points out how hard the enforcement of this kind of law will be: “Transactions are completely online," he said. “It’s impossible to tell where it’s happening from."
According to Vishwanath, it would be a bad idea for the government to ban cryptocurrency in India, because it might push crypto transactions to the black market. As long as there’s a way to bring this money into regulated means, there’s a way to trace it and stop illegal activities, he said, adding that last December’s RBI order, which banned entities regulated by it to deal with, or provides services to individuals or businesses dealing in virtual currencies, a lot of people had moved their cryptocurrencies out of the country.
This seems to be an important point. Ashish Singh, CEO of bZird, a digital marketing firm, said: "many cryptocurrency users in India keep their money abroad". Singh, who is part of cryptocurrency groups on WhatsApp and has dealt in virtual currencies, said the bill may not hurt the “really big users" but has yet to describe the effect of such a bill on medium and small users.
Right now it is unclear if users who want to make a withdrawal need to do so via an American account. Other estimations popular in cryptocurrency Whatsapp groups in India are that since India is a part of the G20, it is unlikely the government will choose to follow this path.

Detailed thoughts/research on ICON (i.e. Korean Ethereum). Being listed today on OKEx and Binance. (Super bullish on this one, I'd love some comments for/against.)

Tips and Warnings for those trying to get your parents into Crypto

So, I'm sure I'm not the only one who surely have spread the idea of cryptos to your family, I'm not trying to tell you to do it either, after all, it's money, you can't just toy around with it, and they will most likely need your help all the time once you do that. So here are a few tips and warnings from experience, and how to get them to understand.
It's also important to have in mind that Crypto is a global phenomena, it's not a first world only thing, some problems may be easier to see when your country is already down, like Venezuela, while those in Norway applying a similar law get completely different results in comparison. I will try however, as one who lives in one of these third world countries, to translate the situation as best as I can.

Showing how fast and useful they are

I started trying Bitcoin at 2015, I'm a tech enthusiast, but when I saw it for the first time, I thought "What the heck is this" and gave little importance, as I got more critical to politics, I found out how idea was pretty much the solution the world needed, and through youtube, I found an interesting local exchange. I bought some and cached out later, I experimented both localized FUDs and FOMOs, losing some money from that small investment, but it was ok, I got experience from that, mistakes are necessary for the heavier stuff later. When I told my mom that I had spent some money on Bitcoin, as I expected, she didn't like it.
I cashed and bought more bitcoins later, I saw how much I missed, and I trusted them, this second time I held out for about half a year in my wallet. I bought an apartment (thanks to government laws forcing banks to give credit, and you guessed it, we are having a real estate bubble right now), and while I could pay pretty much fine without cashing out, some unexpected stuff appeared, and while my mom paid most of the renovations, when there that appeared to pay, she told me to pay myself, I had already told her I had bitcoins, and that I didn't want to take them out because they would value more later, she told me she didn't care, so I decided to do it to avoid problems, didn't get much in that time, the equivalent to $150, from an over $1000 initial, but it was ok. Cashed it out and paid the bills, now I had no more bitcoins.
Later that year, my sister who was in the US working and asked me what was the cheapest way to transfer money to another country as she would be back, I had no doubts, Bitcoin, we talked on Whatsapp in a family group, and I noticed that my mother didn't said anything against, in fact, when she got in the conversation, she seemed quite curious, my sister made a coinbase account, bought about $10 to try, and a week later, it was already over 50%, seems like my mom was impressed and asked me more about it. Recently she told me that when I said I would cash out to pay that bill, she expected me to take a long time to get the money and pay, she didn't expect for me to get the money and pay everything in the next day, and now seeing my sister getting $5 out of $10 in a week was too much, she was interested and wanted to learn more, thought she didn't had money to freely invest at the moment.

Explaning the advantages.

You see, I'm into crypto as part of my ideology, but our parents are most likely too attached to the current system to understand the value of the token over Fiat, they are looking into making money fast, because the current system "is too big to fail". If you are like me, you may not have success in explaining your parents like that, you must go slow and show them how technology made everything easier and fast.
Currency works over trust, literally that, as someone from a third world country plagued with socialist politicians, with the economy going down and below every single day and politicians being jailed left and right, it's easy to see how undervalued a currency can be, during the elections, when the anticipation seems to go towards the current government, everything would decline, when it was the opposition, it would go up, eventually the current government won, and things went downhill. Then impeachment, and things looked slightly better, but of course, it was just as bad. There was simply no good option following that route, it was only worst and slightly less worst, and things will not change, that's guaranteed.
So, by explaining the influence of politics on the economy, how taxes end up going on corruption, and instead of lowering their wasted spending, they just go for increasing taxes giving ridiculous excuses to fix the bill, again, it's easy to see how governments will eventually end up when you are already in a bad situation, Venezuela is a great example today, we MUST use it.
Not only that, Fiat money can be printed by a simple order, it then forces inflation, and while the rich who get the newly printed money first get the lower prices, the poor who got it last ends up having to pay more without really earning more, all thanks to inflation, and how the friends of the king/owner of the printer can get as much money as they want just by being friends with the government leader.
This post explains quite well for the simple user the value of tokens and the blockchain:
Not only that, to counter the idea of "Too big to fail", I explained the whole domino effect: By owning anonymous currency, you can't be taxed, by not being taxed, governments will either break or significantly shrink as they won't be able to pay for public services like security or even fiscals, and with an undervalued printer, the currency would die and central banks would have no value anymore, and without central banks, Banks would then be unregulated and work like a proper financial institute, or lose all their possible clients. There is much more to that, but we can keep at this.
The 2008 real estate bubble in the US will be nothing compared to this coming revolution, and most importantly, it's not that the government can stop that, they can try, but the change is inevitable, technology will always adapt itself faster than governments can stop it, and we have countries openly accepting it, so that breaks a possible global dictatorship possibility. It's not about you choosing to accept it or not, it's about everyone else accepting it, and the earlier you get there, the more experience and value you will get in the end.
When asked on how something that doesn't exist can value so much, I remind her that currency is all about trust because piece of paper and numbers printed from the bank are also nothing or just a piece of paper that can be faked, but while you can't trust the central bank on keeping their printers turned off, you can trust a decentralized Blockchain because, to each node, they don't trust each other either, and always check everything by themselves, with the result being what the Blockchain is seen. This amount of checking is the most trusted decentralized source in the world currently.

Giving it a try

Considering you got them curious enough to try:
  1. Let them do it themselves, don't help directly.
I started with Bitcoin, but because of the price, she didn't want that, and I agreed, but I didn't knew another exchange around here that could be trusted, so she looked for one herself, and found one. I did help in checking if it was trustful, not some scam site, explained to her that usually exchanges need to offer their public addresses for deposit which guarantee that they have the money they claim to have. Confirming, she bought some other coins, like Ethereum, Litecoin and Monero which were available.
  2. Warn about money and time needed for earnings.
Always tell them not to spend money they will need, because I invested a lot of money (I got fired and earned a bunch from that, so I paid all my bills, saved some for the next month, and I bought bitcoins with the rest, I was afraid my mom would end up doing the same, she took out an application she had with the bank that earned little to nothing, and said she didn't had the intention of touching that money in at least 6 months.
  3. If they lose, keep them calm, *this is experience on something new.*
My mom started at the end of 2017, which means when prices were all time high, also, while I got some very decent earnings from trading because I was earlier, while she tried to do the same thing I did, she was significantly slower, getting on when things were higher.
She also got quite a number of problems on Shapeshift that I recommended, but after the Ripple increase, everything seemed slowed down, not only that, when she tried to convert Monero, she said that she inserted all the info, but it gave her a warning, when she took out the payment ID it worked, she seemed quite happy to have fixed it by herself, I told her that without that info, she literally lost her money, she got pretty down, down enough that I decided to give her the amount she would get from my earnings, it wasn't much, and fortunately, we recovered them later. As the son, it was quite an stressful process to calm her in that situation, but it worked out in the end and she recovered her XMR. Another lesson learned.
Another important lesson is to invest in what you know, because the exchange my mother found has a good number of coins, she would check the numbers, one of them was increasing by a lot, and she bought it thinking it would keep increasing. the minute after it crashed back to it's normal value. She told me, I checked the graphs and found out she got into a local Bubble, so she a token that was increasing only locally. I asked her what she knew about that token, and of course, she knew nothing. It was a lesson learned, always check what you are putting your money on BEFORE doing it.
  4. Attack vs Defense
As I said, I'm on crypto for an ideology, it's a defense against that which I can't trust, the whole valuation is nice, but not my main objective, however, once my mother decided to try things out, I noticed I started thinking on trading. After her losses, I understood the problem, as said before, your parents are most likely thinking of this more as getting easy money than you may be, and this, for me, is wrong, I got easily influenced, and though my results were significantly better than hers, I also got some losses after those ups, it was good for experience, but I explained to her to keep that in mind, you can't think of the money, you need to find what will persist, something that can protect your earnings, not what will most likely multiply you money faster, or at least, not without some good experience first.
So, these are my experiences until now, but the adventure continues, and there is much to learn and to teach. As a matter of context, I don't live with my parents anymore, so it makes it easier to make them do things by themselves, and for them to make mistakes too. If you live with them, however, I again suggest letting them make mistakes, or at least stop them in the last minute and explain to them what would have happened if they continued. It's also interesting to comment on new findings, my mother sometimes send me some videos about it, though I prefer to do my own research instead of going to youtube, I'm happy seeing that she is actually learning by herself.
However, keep in mind, by doing this, you are also tying yourself to help them when they need, which may be quite stressful sometimes, hence, I do not recommend doing it for someone who you are not as near with, or at least, not ones who can't do it by themselves, we got stories of people who ended up regretting suggesting cryptos to their families who had losses due to FUD and FOMO, they felt betrayed because they did not get easy money as they thought was promised.

Some tips and warnings on how to explain the idea of cryptos to the people near you in case you would like them to try for their own benefit. Be careful if you can get easily stressed out.

We’re Unionising the Stubborn Minority who Want to Protect their Data says Brave’s Brendan Eich
The next 25 years on the internet will be marked by users taking their data back from the likes of Facebook and Google, leading to a whole new digital ecosystem, says Brave’s Brendan Eich. In this interview Eich describes how he believes this new ecosystem will work, with users deciding where and how their data is used, and explains why he believes this will be to the benefit of both consumers and advertisers.

The Internet’s ‘Original Sin’ Endangers More Than Privacy
Internet advertising started simply, but over time organically evolved a mess of middle players and congealed into a surveillance economy. Today, between end users, publishers and advertisers stand a throng of agencies, trading desks, demand side platforms, network exchanges and yield optimizers. Intermediaries track users in an attempt to improve revenue. Covers Brave and BAT
Since inception, Basic Attention Token or, BAT has attracted the interest of millions of crypto enthusiasts and long-term HODLers. It has always been an interesting blockchain project which is specifically designed and developed for revolutionizing digital advertising entirely. The development team behind BAT have realised that the digital advertising norms are going to take a modern shape in the coming months and hence ventured into BAT by developing a Brave browser that is poised to be the only blockchain platform for modern digital advertising.
Millions more people will use Brave's ad-blocking browser by year-end, startup predicts
Brave Software has 2.2 million people using its ad-blocking web browser and expects it'll roughly double that, or more, by year's end. "User growth remains strong, and we anticipate millions more by the end of 2018," Brave said in a blog post Friday. Roughly three quarters use the browser on mobile devices and one quarter on personal computers, and most users are in the United States or Europe, Brave said.

A Facebook software engineer allegedly used his access to stalk women
Facebook has fired a security engineer who allegedly took advantage of his position to access information he then used to stalk women online, the social media giant confirmed to NBC News Tuesday. “We are investigating this as a matter of urgency," Alex Stamos, Chief Security Officer at Facebook, said in a statement to NBC News.
"It’s important that people’s information is kept secure and private when they use Facebook," he said. "It’s why we have strict policy controls and technical restrictions so employees only access the data they need to do their jobs – for example to fix bugs, manage customer support issues or respond to valid legal requests. Employees who abuse these controls will be fired.”

Opinion: Silicon Valley Can't Be Trusted With Our History
One broken link at a time, one of the most heavily documented historical events of the social media era could fade away before our eyes. It’s the paradox of the internet age: Smartphones and social media have created an archive of publicly available information unlike any in human history — an ocean of eyewitness testimony. But while we create almost everything on the internet, we control almost none of it.
Publishers rebuke Google's interpretation of EU privacy law
Google is forcing media firms that generate revenue from its advertising services to accept unreasonable responsibilities under a new European privacy law, four major publisher trade groups told the Alphabet Inc unit late Sunday in a letter seen by Reuters.
*Jason Kint says, “Looks like Google is already trying to spin its way out of mounting criticism for its data practices including from publishers as Google tries to leverage its dominance and protect its business interests as GDPR rolls out. Let's examine how they spin it." *
He breaks it all down in a series of tweets, starting here:
Are Google and Facebook Undermining Europe’s Privacy Rules? Less than a month before tough new European privacy rules take effect, there are growing concerns from regulators, publishers, and privacy watchdogs about the ways that two internet giants—Google and Facebook—plan to implement the regulations. The critics say the companies are squelching the promise of the new rules, and will leave European internet users no better off.

  • BrendanEich @BrendanEich As some point out, social data is not owned by one person - you own your assertion of Beth as friend, Beth may not reciprocate but owns her arcs out in the digraph. That's social. For browser history, though, I argue you must own your data. History is hugely valuable & sensitive. 6:47 PM - 28 Apr 2018
  • BrendanEich‏ @BrendanEich On feeding false info, that is indeed what many governments & product marketers do and have done throughout the history of advertising. What I'm distinguishing in previous tweet is social clustering and influencer chokepoints (owned partly by many; commons) w/ individual history.
  • BrendanEich‏ @BrendanEich Important not to mix these up.
